The Byke Old Anchor Beach Resort is an amazing resort located near the Cavelossim beach in South Goa. The location of the resort is excellent with the beach just a 2-minutes walk away. The size of the property is huge and is very nicely built. I stayed in this resort on 18th and 19th March, 2018 with my colleagues. Though we were absolutely satisfied with the experience, there are a few things that the management of the resort needs to improve. Please read on to find more.
Location of The Byke Old Anchor Beach Resort
The location of The Byke Old Anchor Beach Resort is exceptional. It is close to the beach and the surroundings are amazing. Several other luxury resorts are located nearby. With a market in the vicinity and some good restaurants along the road, the location is perfect for an enjoyable vacation.
Description of the Property
The property has been amazingly developed and is very clean. While the Cavelossim Beach is just a few metres away on the front side, a river flows at the back side offering breath-taking views. The rooms were nice but we had some problems with the room Air Conditioners. The cooling was not good at all. The best thing about the resort is its beautiful swimming pool. It is a large pool with varying depths and a separate kids section. The closing time of the pool was 7pm which was too early the summers in March. There is an activity area and a discotheque within the resort. You can also relax in the lush green lawns of the resort.
Poor Customer Service
Poor customer service was the only bad thing during our stay at The Byke Old Anchor Beach Resort. The staff is not at all cooperative and is rude. We felt that they really don’t care about customer satisfaction. Because of the location of the resort, it is normally occupied by the foreign tourists in large numbers. If you have a bad experience, their business doesn't get affected. Before the checkout, we called the reception asking for a trolley for the luggage. Even after waiting for about half an hour, the trolley didn’t arrive and we had to pick up our heavy luggage ourselves. This was a problem because the reception area was quite far and the scorching heat of the sun wasn’t helping either. Moreover the staff doesn’t help you much with the answers to your questions about the surroundings and the places to visit.
Food Quality at The Byke Old Anchor Beach Resort
The food quality here is great. The buffet breakfast was exceptional with a lot of variety and good taste. We tasted the dinner once and it was awesome as well. One important thing to note is that the menu is "vegetarian only". If you are a non-veg. fan like me, you would need to go to the nearby restaurants. To be honest, this wasn’t a pain for our group because the overall experience was good.
